Tree Planting Initiative at Jari Al Shaikh Marks New Phase in Forever Green Campaign

Manama: The National Initiative for Agricultural Development (NIAD) inaugurated a new site as part of the fifth phase of the national afforestation campaign "Forever Green" at Jari Al Shaikh Rest Area, with support from Cortado Roastery.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the event was attended by Shaikha Maram bint Isa Al Khalifa, Secretary General of the National Initiative for Agricultural Development; Abdulaziz Al Kooheji, Chief Operations and Corporate Communications Officer at Cortado Roastery; Rashid Abdullah, Marketing Director at Cortado Roastery; as well as a number of officials, volunteers, and individuals interested in environmental affairs.

The event included the planting of 35 Acacia glauca saplings as part of ongoing efforts to expand green spaces and advance environmental sustainability goals.

Shaikha Maram bint Isa highlighted the importance of strengthening community partnerships with private sector institutions to support environmental initiatives, noting that the national afforestation campaign represents a successful model of cooperation aimed at increasing vegetation cover and improving quality of life in the Kingdom.

For his part, Al Kooheji expressed pride in supporting the national afforestation campaign, affirming commitment to contributing to environmental and community initiatives that create a sustainable positive impact and promote environmental awareness.

The NIAD continues to implement programmes and initiatives aimed at expanding green spaces and encouraging all segments of society to participate in national efforts to achieve environmental sustainability.
