Transportation Ministry Mandates Licensing for Student Transport Services

Manama: The Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications has emphasized the necessity for all student transport service operators to secure the appropriate licences before commencing operations, as preparations are underway for the 2026-2027 academic year. This initiative aims to ensure compliance with the established regulations and standards.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the licensing requirement is intended to confirm that both vehicles and drivers meet essential safety and technical standards, ensuring that transport services are both safe and reliable. The Ministry has urged individuals and companies interested in providing student transport services to complete the necessary licensing procedures to avoid violations of relevant regulations.

Furthermore, the Ministry has advised parents to verify the licensing status of student transport providers before engaging their services. Parents are encouraged to consult the list of licensed operators available on the Ministry's website for assurance.

In its efforts to regulate student transport services, the Ministry continues to collaborate with the Ministry of Education and the General Directorate of Traffic. This coordination aims to enhance compliance with the applicable requirements, ensuring a safe and efficient transport system for students.
