Transportation Minister Meets with US Special Advisor to Discuss Disability Rights.

Manama: Dr. Shaikh Abdullah bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications, met with Sara Minkara, Special Advisor for International Disability Rights at the US Department of State. According to Bahrain News Agency, the meeting was attended by Steven C. Bondy, US Ambassador to Bahrain, and Maryam Adnan Al Ansari, Undersecretary for Land Transport and Post Affairs at the Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications. The Minister reaffirmed Bahrain's commitment to enhancing strategic cooperation with the United States, particularly in the sectors of transportation, maritime and aviation navigation, and telecommunications. He emphasized the mutual advantages of such collaboration for both nations and their citizens. The Minister also highlighted the Ministry's ongoing initiatives to develop public facilities and services that accommodate the needs of all societal members, including efforts to empower individuals with disabilities. These initiatives are in line with Bahrain's poli cies, legislation, and the National Strategy for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, aiming to provide access to transportation and modern communication technologies. Sara Minkara commended Bahrain's dedication to strengthening cooperation with the United States in the area of disability rights. She praised the Kingdom's ongoing efforts to uphold human rights and expressed her hopes for Bahrain's continued progress and prosperity.
