Bahrain Affirms Support for Lebanon’s Sovereignty and Stability, Rejects Foreign Interference

Manama: The Kingdom of Bahrain reaffirmed its unwavering position in supporting the sovereignty, security, stability, and territorial integrity of the Lebanese Republic, and its rejection of foreign interference in its internal affairs.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reiterated the Kingdom's support for the efforts of His Excellency President General Joseph Aoun and the Lebanese government to strengthen state institutions, extend state authority across Lebanese territory, and ensure that arms remain exclusively under the authority of the state, in line with the Taif Agreement, United Nations Security Council Resolution 1701, and other relevant international resolutions.

The ministry expressed appreciation for the mediation efforts undertaken by the United States under the leadership of His Excellency President Donald Trump to reach a permanent ceasefire agreement in Lebanon. It also commended the Lebanese Presidency and Government for their commitment to diplomatic efforts aimed at ending hostilities, protecting civilians, and facilitating the return of displaced persons.

The ministry stressed the importance of respecting Lebanon's sovereignty, independence, and national decision-making, supporting inclusive national dialogue, and preventing the country from becoming an arena for regional conflicts.

The ministry also reiterated Bahrain's call for enhanced international and regional efforts to provide humanitarian support to Lebanon, alleviate the suffering of civilians, and support the work of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) and ensure the safety of its personnel.

The ministry wished the Lebanese Republic success in achieving stability, reform, and national unity and strengthening its role at the Arab and international levels.
