Manama: Dr. Shaikh Abdullah bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications, highlighted the significant achievements of Bahraini women, made possible by the support of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. He noted that this support has prioritised women's partnership in national development. According to Bahrain News Agency, the minister also commended the ongoing support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, and the efforts of Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Consort of HM the King and President of the Supreme Council for Women (SCW), for advancing women's contributions through national initiatives. The minister noted that this year's Bahraini Women's Day coincides with the Kingdom's silver jubilee celebrations of His Majesty the King's accession. He emphasised Bahrain's progress in empowering women and integrating their needs into government programmes, in line with the National Strategy for the Advancement of Bahraini Women. He expressed pride in the collaboration between the ministry and SCW, particularly through the ministry's Equal Opportunities Committee, which promotes gender balance. He also commended the contributions of female employees in advancing the transportation and telecommunications sector and supporting sustainable development goals. The minister added that Bahraini Women's Day is an opportunity to highlight women's success stories and their role in digital transformation and innovation, aligning with the Kingdom's aspirations under the leadership of HM the King.
