Traffic Measures Announced for Bahrain Ironman Championship.

Manama: The General Directorate of Traffic has announced intensified efforts to manage traffic during the Bahrain International Ironman Championship (Triathlon), set to take place on Friday, November 29. To ensure the safety of competitors, specific lanes will be allocated for the race during the morning hours. The bicycle race will commence at 6:40 AM from the race village near Reef Island, proceeding left at the Al Farooq intersection on King Faisal Highway towards the Sheraton traffic signal. According to Bahrain News Agency, cyclists will then follow Shaikh Khalifa bin Salman Highway to Zallaq Highway, turning left onto Bahrain Bay Road and returning through the same route to the Rashid Equestrian and Horseracing Club (REHC) signal. They will then rejoin Shaikh Khalifa bin Salman Highway, concluding at the finish line near Reef Island at approximately 12:15 PM. Motorists traveling from the Southern Governorate towards Bahrain International Airport are advised to use Shaikh Isa bin Salman Highway to avoid disruptions. Bahrain will host several major events coinciding with the race, including Jewellery Arabia, Scent Arabia, and Cityscape, running from November 26-30 at Exhibition World Bahrain (EWB). The seventh Bahrain Animal Production Show (Mara'ee) will also be held at the Bahrain International Endurance Village from November 27-1 December. Roads used for the Ironman Championship will reopen to the public by 4:00 PM on Friday. The General Directorate urged road users to adhere to traffic regulations and follow instructions shared through social media and other communication channels to ensure public safety.
