Manama: Major General Shaikh Abdulrahman bin Abdulwahab Al Khalifa, Director-General of Traffic, said that the issuance of the decree-law amending certain provisions of the Traffic Law reflected the vision of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, in preserving lives and property and developing the legislative system.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Major General Shaikh Abdulrahman bin Abdulwahab commended the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, regarding the strict enforcement of penalties for traffic violations and accidents resulting in serious injuries or fatalities, as well as the instructions of General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Minister of Interior, to take all necessary legal measures under the Traffic Law and its executive regulations, contributing to the protection of lives and property and the enforcement of the law.
The Director-General of Traffic noted the General Directorate of Traffic's appreciation for the Minister of Interior's recognition of the Directorate's efforts in field monitoring and awareness campaigns, which aim to enhance road safety and ensure compliance with traffic regulations among all road users.
Major General Shaikh Abdulrahman bin Abdulwahab said that the amendments to the Traffic Law constitute a significant advancement in the traffic system and establish the foundation for a new phase of compliance and discipline. He added that the General Directorate of Traffic will work to implement these amendments effectively, alongside enhancing awareness campaigns and field monitoring.
