Manama: Bahrain's parliamentary delegation, led by Hassan Ibrahim Hassan, Member of the Council of Representatives, held a virtual coordination meeting to prepare for participation in the 11th IPU Global Conference of Young Parliamentarians.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the conference, organised in partnership with the Congress of the Republic of Peru, will take place in Lima from September 11 - 13 under the theme "Uniting generations for gender equality". Bahrain's delegation includes Hassan Ibrahim Hassan and Ali Husain Al Shehabi, Member of the Shura Council.
Discussions will focus on progress towards gender equality, legal parity, and combating violence against women, alongside scenario-based proposals for transformative change. The conference also provides a platform for young parliamentarians to share experiences and promote youth empowerment in politics, development, social inclusion, and digital innovation.
