Tourism Minister Highlights Bahrain’s Growing Luxury Tourism Sector

Manama: The Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA) launched the Connections Luxury Bahrain event at The Ritz-Carlton, Bahrain, in the presence of Fatima bint Jaafar Al Sairafi, Minister of Tourism and Chairperson of the Board of the BTEA. The event forms part of ongoing efforts to strengthen the Kingdom of Bahrain's position as a leading luxury tourism destination regionally and internationally.

According to Bahrain News Agency, now in its fourth edition, the event aims to open new opportunities for the Kingdom's tourism sector by bringing together a select group of leading international buyers specialising in luxury travel with local tourism service providers. This approach supports direct partnerships and contributes to attracting high-spending visitors.

During the event, the Minister of Tourism said that organising such specialised initiatives reflects Bahrain's advanced tourism offerings, solid infrastructure, and distinctive hospitality experiences, which underscore its growing status as a premium luxury tourism destination. She emphasised the importance of building sustainable partnerships with global markets to support sector growth and enhance competitiveness, in line with the Kingdom's economic priorities and development plans.

This year's edition saw the participation of 35 international buyers and 35 local entities, with the majority coming from the United Kingdom, alongside participants from India, Russia, Germany, and France. This reflects increasing international interest in the Kingdom of Bahrain as a luxury tourism destination.

The event includes a series of specialised business meetings, as well as curated on-site tourism experiences that allow international delegations to explore Bahrain's luxury tourism products and services. The event runs until February 10, as part of the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority's strategy to attract international markets and strengthen high-quality partnerships that reinforce the Kingdom's position on the global tourism map.
