The US is a main trade partner for Bahrain- BCCI Chairman

Bahrain Chamber for Commerce and Industry (BCCI)’s Chairman Sameer Nass received the American Ambassador to Bahrain, Steven C. Bondy.

Nass hailed the historical relations between the two countries, highlighting the steadily growing trade, which exceeded $2 billion in 2021, and the potential to expand partnerships and encourage investments between Bahrain and the US.

The chairman stressed the importance of the Free Trade Agreement (FTA) between Bahrain and the US, noting the need to capitalize it, particularly by encouraging and empowering Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) to engage in trade activities.

He highlighted the promising opportunities in the Aluminum downstream industry, and voiced the keenness of the BCCI on liaising with the embassy to raise awareness about business opportunities in both countries.

Easing of the visa requirements and expanding exchange programs were also discussed, as well as the role of tourism in stimulating trade and partnerships.

The ambassador congratulated the newly elected board of directors of the Chamber spearheaded by Sameer Nass, commended the pivotal role of the chamber in serving the business community and enhancing the competitiveness of the economy.

He reiterated keenness on joining efforts with the BCCI in all that serve enhancing business and trade and streamlining the endeavors of business owners and investors.
