The National Security Service dismantles a drug trafficking network and seizes 13 kilograms of marijuana


The National Security Service announced today, Friday, the dismantling of a drug trafficking network and the seizure of about 13 kg of narcotic marijuana.

The Service said in a statement: ‘The operation took place after obtaining judicial approvals and following up on the drug traffickers’ itinerary, as a result of which the members of the network were overthrown, including two defendants who were in Sulaymaniyah Governorate, where they were arrested in coordination with the General Directorate of Asayish Operations in the Kurdistan Region.’

It added: ‘The network members were trading and promoting drugs in innovative ways and by using social networking sites to receive and deliver narcotic substances and money.’
