The civil defense teams took full control of two separate fires in the center of the holy city of Karbala, late Sunday night.
The Directorate stated in a statement that the civil defense teams mobilized to put out a fire that broke out inside a hotel consisting of several floors in the center of Karbala Governorate in Qazwiniya region, where the civil defense teams surrounded the fire and isolated the site of the accident from neighboring hotels in conjunction with the implementation of direct storming operations and evacuation of the hotel completely from the costumers and its workers, who numbered nearly 200 visitors, with the rescue of large sums of money and gold jewelry from the visitors’ luggage, the guests inside the hotels, and their delivery in accordance with the legal procedures.
It added that in the midst of that time, another fire broke out in a warehouse for food preservation supplies in Al-Bubayyat area in the center of Karbala governorate, so that the civil defense teams accelerated and took full control and finished the extinguishing and cooling work in the two accidents without recording human injuries while limiting the material damage.
