Manama: Dr. Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, the Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications of Bahrain, held a meeting with Mohammed bin Ali Al Mannai, the Minister of Communications and Information Technology of the State of Qatar. The focus of the meeting was on strengthening ties between the two nations, particularly in the areas of digital infrastructure, technological innovation, and cybersecurity.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Dr. Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed reiterated Bahrain's dedication to advancing cooperation with Qatar, emphasizing the significance of sharing expertise in digital transformation and artificial intelligence. He underscored the achievements of both countries in the telecommunications and IT sectors, noting their regional and global prominence in innovation, digital economy, and smart governance. The minister highlighted that these efforts are in line with Bahrain's Economic Vision 2030 and Qatar's National Vision 2030. Furthermore, he praised the successful hosting of the second edition of the "Web Summit Qatar," which garnered extensive international participation.
The ministers explored avenues for collaboration in digital transformation, AI, and cloud computing, alongside discussions on investment support, expertise exchange, and the adoption of best practices in infrastructure development and workforce capacity building. They also emphasized the importance of strategic integration within the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) framework to bolster the digital economy and sustainable growth in the region.
Al Mannai expressed Qatar's dedication to broadening economic cooperation with Bahrain to fulfill mutual interests and promote digital transformation and ICT infrastructure development. He conveyed his best wishes for Bahrain's continued progress and prosperity.
