Manama: The Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (SCIA) has announced that the Sharia Crescent Sighting Committee is set to meet on Wednesday evening. The meeting will take place at the SCIA building's meeting hall to receive reports and testimonies concerning the sighting of the crescent moon, which signals the start of the month of Shawwal for the year 1447 AH.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the Council has urged anyone who observes or receives credible information regarding the crescent's sighting to promptly inform the Sharia Crescent Sighting Committee. This announcement highlights the importance of community participation in determining the commencement of the new month in the Islamic lunar calendar.
