Manama: The Supreme Committee for Hajj and Umrah Affairs announced the commencement of issuing preliminary acceptance notices to registered applicants for the 1447H/2026 pilgrimage, following electronic screening and the application of priority criteria.
According to Bahrain News Agency, a total of 23,231 people had registered before the online portal closed, and all applications had been reviewed. A preliminary list of 4,625 accepted pilgrims was then drawn up in line with Bahrain's quota.
The committee stated that the official date for accepted pilgrims to select their preferred Haj tour operator will be announced later. This timeframe will give licensed organisers the opportunity to present their packages, allowing the pilgrims to review, compare, and choose, fostering a competitive environment.
The committee congratulated those selected through the electronic screening to perform Haj as part of Bahrain's official delegation for the coming season. It also expressed its best wishes to those not chosen, hoping they will have the opportunity in future seasons.
