Manama: The Sunni Endowments Directorate held its annual ceremony for the Scientific Texts Memorisation and Study Programme in the presence of Shaikh Dr. Rashid bin Mohammed bin Futais Al Hajri, Chairman of the Sunni Endowments Council, to honour students completing their studies in Islamic sciences.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Shaikh Dr. Rashid bin Mohammed stated that the programme supports the directorate's efforts to promote Islamic education and reinforce the mosque's role in learning and guidance. He noted that investing in religious education is one of the key purposes of endowments, helping to strengthen awareness and moral values among youth.
He added that nine Quranic centres participated in the programme, supervised by 48 teachers, with more than 580 students studying texts in creed, jurisprudence, recitation, Arabic language, and supplications. The programme included approximately 155 specialised academic hours divided into three main tracks: introductory for students up to 15 years old, foundational for beginners, and advanced for students of Islamic studies.
Shaikh Dr. Rashid bin Mohammed emphasised that these efforts reflect the Kingdom's continued support for Islamic education under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the government led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
The ceremony concluded with the honouring of teachers, supervisors, and outstanding students.
