Manama: The Sunni Endowments Directorate has announced a temporary conversion of 28 mosques across the Kingdom into congregational mosques for the Holy Month of Ramadan 1447 AH. This measure will allow these mosques to host Friday prayers starting from the first Friday of the blessed month.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Shaikh Dr. Rashid bin Mohammed bin Futais Al Hajri, Chairman of the Sunni Endowments Council, confirmed that all necessary steps have been taken to ensure these mosques are ready to accommodate worshippers. The initiative is aimed at creating an appropriate and serene environment for prayers during Ramadan. The temporary designation is intended to manage the increased attendance, facilitate access to Friday prayers, and ease the pressure on existing congregational mosques during the holy month.
Al Hajri also extended his congratulations and best wishes to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, and the people of Bahrain on the occasion of Ramadan, hoping it brings blessings and prosperity to all.

In Muharraq Governorate, the selected mosques include Al Buraishid Mosque, Haya bint Mohammed Al Buflasa Mosque, Aisha Al Rashid Mosque, and others. In the Southern Governorate, mosques such as Al Ikhlas Mosque, Badriya Jafar Al Marbati Mosque, and several others in East Riffa and Zallaq are included.
