Manama: Shaikh Dr. Rashid bin Mohammed bin Futais Al Hajri, Chairman of the Sunni Endowments Council, has announced the initiation of a series of religious and awareness programmes during the month of Dhu Al Hijjah. These initiatives aim to enhance public understanding of the virtues of the month and the rulings and objectives of Hajj.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the Council has devised a comprehensive plan that incorporates scholarly sessions, religious lessons, and media initiatives addressing different segments of society. A total of twelve scholarly sessions on Hajj jurisprudence will be conducted in mosques throughout Bahrain's governorates. Additionally, a series of lessons focusing on the spiritual practices, purposes, and rulings of worship during the first ten days of Dhul Hijjah will be delivered by a group of scholars and preachers.
On the media front, the Council is collaborating with Al Watan newspaper to publish weekly articles on Hajj rulings and virtues. In partnership with the Ministry of Information, three religious programmes are set to be broadcast on the Quran Kareem TV channel, alongside a radio seminar exploring the aims and legal aspects of Hajj, produced with the Communications Group. Fourteen awareness radio segments discussing the virtues of the first ten days of Dhu Al Hijjah will also be aired, along with a special programme presenting reflective narratives on acts of worship. Digital awareness materials will be disseminated through the Council's social media platforms.
To bolster direct engagement with worshippers, written sermons have been distributed to imams for delivery in mosques. These sermons will focus on Hajj jurisprudence and acts of worship during the first ten days of Dhu Al Hijjah. Al Hajri emphasized that these initiatives reflect the Council's commitment to promoting religious awareness, strengthening the public's connection to these blessed days, and reinforcing the values of moderation and balance in Islam.
