Manama: As part of the National Committee for Civil Emergency Management's efforts to enhance national preparedness, the committee's Executive Office organised a training workshop in cooperation with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the International Organization for Migration (IOM), and the UN Migration Agency.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the workshop brought together over 80 participants from various government bodies and national institutions. It marked a key milestone in the development of Bahrain's emergency and rapid response systems and represented a foundational step towards building a community capable of adapting to future challenges.
The event reflects Bahrain's commitment to a proactive approach in emergency management, aimed at improving institutional preparedness and response capabilities. It supports the national emergency management strategy and aligns with the Ministry of Interior's vision to establish a safe and stable national environment through effective and integrated international partnerships.
The training programme covered the fundamentals of operational readiness, emergency planning and operations, community preparedness, and Bahrain's national risk register. It also addressed evacuation planning, highlighting its core principles and stages. These efforts contribute to the development of cohesive national capacities grounded in international best practices in disaster risk management.
