Sunni Endowments Council Announces Eid Al Adha Prayer Arrangements Across Bahrain

Manama: Dr. Shaikh Rashid bin Mohammed bin Futtais Al Hajeri, Chairman of the Sunni Endowments Council, has announced that Eid Al Adha prayers will be held at official mosques and designated open-air prayer areas under the Directorate's supervision on Friday, June 6, at 5:00 a.m., in observance of the Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

According to Bahrain News Agency, the Directorate confirmed its readiness to receive worshippers across all governorates of the Kingdom of Bahrain, with prayer areas prepared and allocated accordingly. A dedicated committee formed by Dr. Shaikh Al Hajeri identified the main prayer sites, including those designated for expatriate communities in selected schools across the Kingdom.

The committee has specified the locations and necessary closures of certain mosques. For instance, the Prayer Area in East Hidd (Hayy Al Julaiah) will be operational while the Al Noor Prayer Area and several mosques including Fatima bint Fahad Al Musallam Mosque will be closed. Similarly, in Hidd (Block 111), the Prince Khalifa bin Salman Park Mosque will be closed, and in Diyar Al Muharraq, Souq Al Baraha Mosque will be closed with the prayer area set in the southern parking area at Souq Al Baraha.

In addition, the Prayer Area near Muharraq Cemetery will see closures of multiple mosques such as the Hamad bin Ali Kanoo Mosque, while the Prayer Area in Salmaniya will not require any mosque closures. Other areas with specified prayer sites and mosque closures include Busaiteen, Northern Riffa, Eastern Riffa, Hajiyat, Askar, Zallaq, Hamad Town, Budaiya, Salman City, and New Ramli Housing.

The Directorate has ensured all sites are fully equipped with carpets, electronic and electrical equipment, sound systems, water, and other necessities to accommodate worshippers comfortably. Inspection teams from the maintenance and engineering departments have completed their assessments to ensure everything is in place.

The Directorate extended its gratitude to all government bodies and organizations that contributed to preparing the prayer sites. Dr. Shaikh Al Hajeri, along with council members and all staff of the Sunni Endowments Directorate, conveyed their congratulations to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, and the people of Bahrain, wishing them and the Islamic nation blessings and prosperity.
