Sunni Endowments Chairman Unveils Digital Platforms for Mosque Maintenance Donations

Manama: Shaikh Rashid bin Mohammed bin Futtais Al Hajri, Chairman of the Sunni Endowments Council, has launched electronic donation platforms aimed at supporting the maintenance of 25 mosques across the Kingdom of Bahrain that do not have dedicated endowments.

According to Bahrain News Agency, Shaikh Rashid bin Mohammed emphasized that the initiative seeks to enhance endowment work and modernize its mechanisms by leveraging digital technologies. This approach is intended to facilitate donations and enable community members to contribute directly to the upkeep of mosques that lack fixed endowments to cover their operational and technical needs.

The first phase of the project involves the installation of 25 electronic donation devices in mosques throughout the Kingdom's governorates. These devices allow worshippers and donors to contribute through secure and multiple payment methods, with all proceeds allocated to routine and emergency maintenance for the mosques included in the initiative.

Shaikh Rashid bin Mohammed mentioned that there is a phased plan to increase the number of devices in the future, aiming to expand the project's reach to more mosques. The next phase will involve periodic performance evaluations and impact assessments to guide the expansion based on actual needs.

He stated that the project is part of ongoing efforts to develop endowment work and enhance its efficiency by diversifying funding sources and promoting transparency in the allocation of donations. This initiative is intended to preserve mosques and support the objectives of endowment in serving the community.
