Strict adherence to COVID-19 precautionary measures urged

The Ministry of Health has affirmed the importance of caution and strict adherence to the precautionary measures to curtail the spread of the coronavirus. It revealed that more than 15,000 new COVID-19 cases have been detected from April 20 to May 3, pointing out that the main reason behind the surge in infections is laxity and non-compliance with the preventative measures like social distancing and avoiding direct contact. It added reports by the teams in charge of tracking contacts with infected cases have shown that gatherings at home is the main reason behind the new infections. Contact in public places and travel come next.

The ministry warned of the danger of showing any laxity in complying with the precautionary measures and the instructions issued by the relevant authorities. It pointed out that the rise in infections causes great pressure on the medical crews and those working in the front lines who deserve every support through strict adherence to the preventative measures and turning out for vaccination to curb the spread of the virus and protect the health and safety of all.
