Speaker stresses continuous cooperation with government to further optimize health services

Speaker of the Representatives Council, Fawzia bint Abdullah Zainal, received today Board of Trustees Chairman of the Government Hospitals, Shaikh Hesham bin Abdulaziz Al Khalifa, and Chief Executive Dr. Ahmed Mohammed Al Ansari.

The meeting was held in the presence of Representatives Council First Deputy Speaker Abdulnabi Salman and Second Deputy Speaker Ali Zayed.

The Representatives Council Speaker underlined the importance of cooperation between the legislative and executive branches to further optimize health services provided for citizens and residents, in line with the comprehensive development march led by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.

She pointed out the significance of mapping out plans to promote the kingdom’s standing in the health field, particularly in light of the unprecedented achievements brought about by Bahrain Taskforce for Combating the Coronavirus (COVID-19) under the leadership of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.

The Representatives Council Speaker affirmed the need to invest in the national human competencies at the public health centres and hospitals to ensure the availability of highly competent Bahraini medical teams and achieve stability in the healthcare field in the present and future.

For his part, the Board of Trustees Chairman of the Government Hospitals thanked the Speaker for the meeting, commending the role of the Representatives Council in developing legislation aimed at upgrading the health sector and improving services.
