Speaker praises role of parliamentary diplomacy in boosting relations

Speaker of the Representatives Council, Fawzia bint Abdullah Zainal, has affirmed the essential role played by the legislative councils and parliaments in boosting relations between brotherly and friendly countries. She expressed pride in strong relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the rest of the world, which embody the vision of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to foster coexistence and peace worldwide.

The Representatives Council Speaker was speaking during a number of meetings held on the sidelines of the Bahraini parliamentary delegation’s participation in the Fifth World Conference of Speakers of Parliament, being held in the Austrian capital, Vienna. She met with Arab Parliament Speaker Adel bin Abdulrahman Al Asoumi and praised the parliament’s efforts to promote the Arab legislative work. She also met with Speaker of the Bangladeshi Parliament Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury and discussed with her bilateral relations and cooperation.

During her meeting with Deputy Speaker of Pakistan’s National Assembly Qasim Khan Suri, the Representatives Council Speaker praised the strong Bahraini-Pakistani relations and growing cooperation in various fields. She also affirmed Bahrain’s stances towards international issues and its efforts to promote global peace.

The Representatives Council Speaker also held meetings with Speaker of the Bosnian House of Representatives Denis Zvizdic and Speaker of the Italian lower house of parliament Roberto Fico.

Shura Council First Deputy Chairman Jamal Mohammed Fakhro, Representatives Council First Deputy Speaker MP Abdulnabi Salman and Shura Council Second Deputy Chairman Jamila Salman attended a number of meetings which were held by the Representatives Council Speaker on the sidelines of the Fifth World Conference of Speakers of Parliament.
