Speaker Marks Bahraini Press Day

Manama: Ahmed bin Salman Al Musallam, Speaker of the Council of Representatives, emphasised the central role of Bahrain's national press in supporting the Kingdom's progress. He highlighted its longstanding commitment to responsible freedom of expression and national service, as the Kingdom marks Bahraini Press Day on May 7.

According to Bahrain News Agency, Al Musallam noted that Bahrain's press continues to receive the support and care of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, along with the close follow-up of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister. Al Musallam extended his appreciation to the media community, commending the Ministry of Information, the National Communication Centre (NCC), the Bahrain Journalists Association (BJA), and all journalists and writers for their professional contributions.

He commended the press's role in addressing national issues with objectivity and integrity, supporting democratic and development goals, and upholding national values and unity. The Speaker underscored parliamentary support for the media sector, describing Bahraini Press Day as a tribute to the Kingdom's press legacy and the contributions of media professionals.
