Speaker: HM King’s Vision Supports Just, Lasting Peace in Region

Cairo: Ahmed bin Salman Al Musallam, Speaker of the Council of Representatives, commended the address made by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa at the Extraordinary Arab Summit on Palestine in Egypt. The Speaker said the address highlighted His Majesty's commitment to a just and lasting peace and the Palestinian people's right to an independent state based on the two-state solution.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the Speaker emphasised Bahrain's firm stance, rejecting displacement and settlement expansion, and supporting the Arab Republic of Egypt's initiative on Gaza as a roadmap for peace and regional security. The Speaker commended the efforts of His Excellency Abdel Fattah El Sisi, President of the Arab Republic of Egypt, in hosting the summit. He highlighted the council's commitment to supporting its resolutions through parliamentary diplomacy.

Speaker Al Musallam emphasised that the Council of Representatives will continue its parliamentary support for all resolutions from the "Palestine Summit" and the "Bahrain Summit," based on the unified Arab position on the Palestinian cause. This includes safeguarding Palestinian rights, preventing their displacement, and establishing a fully sovereign independent Palestinian state in accordance with international resolutions and the Arab Peace Initiative.

The Speaker added that Arab parliamentary diplomacy, through participation in regional and international parliamentary forums, will work to promote the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people. He underscored that the Council of Representatives is committed to supporting the summit's resolutions through parliamentary diplomacy.
