Manama: Ahmed bin Salman Al Musallam, Speaker of the Council of Representatives and Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Parliamentary Division, congratulated Kareema Mohammed Al Abbasi, Secretary-General of the Shura Council, on receiving the Arab Parliamentary Excellence Award in the category of "Secretary-General of Parliament" by the Arab Inter-Parliamentary Union. The award was presented during the participation of the Parliamentary Division's delegation in the 38th Conference of the Union, held in Algeria.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the Speaker emphasised that the ongoing success of Bahraini parliamentary diplomacy at Arab, regional, and international levels is due to the support of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister. He commended the efforts of members of the legislative authority and the general secretariat in representing the Kingdom, gaining recognition from parliamentary unions and organisations, assuming leadership positions, and receiving advanced rankings and distinguished awards, all of which reflect Bahrain's esteemed standing regionally and internationally.
He commended Al Abbasi's ongoing efforts to enhance the operations of the Shura Council's General Secretariat, her cooperation with other legislative secretariats across the Arab region, and her experience and competence, which reflect the success of Team Bahrain, the advancement of Bahraini women, and the honourable representation of the Kingdom.
