Manama: His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Ali Al Khalifa, Southern Governor, visited the camping services centre to review preparations for the 2024-2025 camping season, which runs from November 20 to February 20, 2025. The visit focused on ensuring readiness, service quality, and coordination among relevant authorities to support campers and desert visitors. According to Bahrain News Agency, the Governor inspected the centre's updated facilities, designed to address camper needs and ensure safety, and reviewed security measures and public safety protocols in collaboration with the General Directorate of Traffic, Civil Defence, Southern Governorate Police Directorate, and other agencies. Initiatives include safety campaigns and environmental awareness efforts to promote adherence to camping regulations. The registration process, available until November 25 via the "Khayyam" initiative on the Southern Governorate app, allows users to select designated camping sites, access maps, and view guidelines. By the f ifth day, 2,889 campsites, including family, general, and commercial categories, had been registered. The Governor emphasised the importance of compliance with safety and environmental standards to ensure a secure and well-organised camping season.
