Paris: The Federation of Korean Industries (FKI), a prominent South Korean lobby group, held a significant meeting with its French counterpart in Paris to discuss and exchange perspectives on global trade.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the FKI co-hosted the second Korea-France Future Dialogue with the Movement of the Enterprises of France (MEDEF) at Station F, the world's largest startup campus situated in the French capital. This bilateral private sector consultative platform, established last year, aims to foster long-term strategic cooperation between the business communities of both countries.
The meeting saw participation from over 50 Korean corporate representatives from about 20 companies, including industry giants like Hyundai Motor Co., LG Chem Co., and Korean Air Lines Co. On the French side, approximately 70 executives from major local companies, such as Air Liquide, TotalEnergies, and Airbus, attended the event.
The discussions underscored the strategic importance of economic collaboration between South Korea and France, particularly in light of global industrial and geopolitical changes. The two parties adopted a joint declaration that laid out a shared vision for future private sector cooperation. This vision includes plans to enhance bilateral collaboration in future strategic industries, with a focus on areas like aerospace, energy, and startups.
