According to Bahrain News Agency, Al Mannai revealed that following the completion of all legal and constitutional procedures, the SIO is set to begin the transfer of wage support payments for Bahraini insured private-sector workers for April. These payments, drawn from the unemployment insurance fund, will be deposited into employers' accounts on April 30, subsequent to the conclusion of the registration period on April 28. Al Mannai further announced an additional registration window, allowing employers to apply until Tuesday, May 5. This extension is intended to accommodate those who were unable to complete their registration earlier, thus ensuring broader access to the wage payment scheme. She noted that all necessary technical and administrative procedures have been finalized to guarantee timely payments for those registered by the deadline. The report highlighted that more than 86.6% of employers registered electronically, and an impressive 94.9% of eligible Bahraini insured private-sector workers benefited from the scheme, indicating strong engagement with government initiatives. Al Mannai confirmed that payments will be processed according to the approved schedule. These payments will be made after deducting monthly insurance contributions for individuals covered under the scheme, up to the insured wage ceiling, in accordance with regulations. Employers are responsible for paying the wages of Bahraini insured workers in the priva te sector.
