Manama: Zeyad Adel Darwish, Undersecretary at the Ministry of Social Development, attended an event organised by the Bahrain Parents Care Society to mark the International Day of Older Persons.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Darwish underscored that the day is an opportunity to honour the elderly and commended the Society's role in supporting families and promoting community inclusion for senior citizens. He underlined that elderly care is a national and humanitarian priority, noting the ministry and the National Committee for the Elderly provide programmes that ensure their wellbeing.
The event included cultural performances and the recognition of Society members for their contributions.
