Social Development Minister Participates in Arab Conference on Social Responsibility

Beirut: Osama bin Saleh Al Alawi, Minister of Social Development and Chair of the 44th Session of the Council of Arab Ministers of Social Affairs, participated remotely in the Third Arab Conference on Social Responsibility in the Arab World, organised by the Union of Arab Chambers in Lebanon.

According to Bahrain News Agency, Minister Al Alawi emphasised the Council's focus on strengthening private sector partnerships to support social protection programmes and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) across both economic and social sectors.

He highlighted ongoing cooperation with the Union of Arab Chambers and joint initiatives with the Technical Secretariat, including the Living Independently initiative for persons with disabilities, as well as a project aimed at developing productive families into pioneering and empowering projects.

The minister also noted the need to develop analytical and statistical tools that support private sector initiatives with social and developmental impact, stressing that enhanced private sector responsibility is key to fostering a more inclusive and sustainable model of Arab development.
