Social Development Minister Leads Key Meeting on Disability Care Progress.

Manama: Osama bin Saleh Al Alawi, Minister of Social Development and Chairman of the High Committee for the Care of People with Disabilities, chaired the committee's ninth meeting virtually. The meeting focused on reviewing progress related to recommendations made in the previous session and evaluating achievements as part of the National Strategy for Persons with Disabilities. According to Bahrain News Agency, the committee examined updates regarding its digital platform and assessed Bahrain's involvement in the 7th Gulf Theatre Festival for People with Disabilities held in Qatar. Discussions also revolved around strategies for addressing recommendations outlined in the UN report on disability rights. Plans for forthcoming visits to rehabilitation centres across public, private, and non-governmental sectors were also deliberated. Additionally, the meeting highlighted the successful celebration of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities in Bahrain, an event organised by the Ministry of Social Dev elopment, showcasing the nation's commitment to disability rights and inclusion.
