Manama: Osama bin Saleh Al Alawi, Minister of Social Development and Chairman of the High Committee for the Care of People with Disabilities, met with Sara Minkara, the Special Advisor on International Disability Rights at the US Department of State. The meeting focused on Bahrain's ongoing efforts and commitment to supporting and promoting the rights of people with disabilities, ensuring comprehensive protection and sustainable care for this segment of the population. According to Bahrain News Agency, Minister Al Alawi highlighted the significant national achievements in various societal and developmental fields driven by the effective implementation of the Persons with Disabilities National Strategy (2023-2027). This strategic plan emphasizes the launch and execution of social initiatives and projects aimed at empowering individuals with disabilities, enabling them to actively participate in Bahrain's comprehensive development process. The minister stressed that these efforts are in alignment with a human- centred national vision. Sara Minkara praised Bahrain's initiatives and achievements in supporting people with disabilities. She emphasized the importance of bolstering coordination and collaboration between Bahrain and international partners to further enhance the rights and support for people with disabilities.
