Manama: Osama bin Saleh Al Alawi, Minister of Social Development, chaired the National Committee for the Elderly’s meeting. The session brought together representatives from government bodies and civil society organisations.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the Minister affirmed the Kingdom’s commitment to improving elderly care by fostering stronger collaboration across sectors, ensuring social, health, legal, and rehabilitation services meet national priorities and the needs of older citizens.
Key discussions included enhancing support for elderly day centres, reviewing progress on legislative reforms related to senior care, and examining the draft National Strategy for the Elderly, aimed at delivering comprehensive, high-quality services tailored to Bahrain’s ageing population.
