Hajiyat: Civil Defence teams extinguished a fire that broke out in a second-floor apartment of a nine-storey residential building in the Hajiyat area. The incident resulted in the death of a 30-year-old man with disabilities and his 48-year-old mother, who fell from the balcony while trying to escape. A child was taken to hospital for smoke inhalation and is in stable condition.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the operations room received the report at 2:45 am, and Civil Defence teams arrived within 10 minutes. Sixteen people trapped by thick smoke were rescued, and 116 residents were evacuated. The fire was contained, and cooling operations began immediately. Investigations are ongoing to determine the cause and circumstances of the fire.
