Manama: Dr. Ali bin Mohammed Al Rumaihi, Chairman of the Shura Council's Foreign Affairs, Defence and National Security Committee, condemned the attack launched by the Islamic Republic of Iran against the State of Qatar, emphasising that this constitutes a serious threat to the sovereignty of Qatar and the security and stability of all the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC).
According to Bahrain News Agency, Dr. Al Rumaihi affirmed that the Kingdom of Bahrain stands with Qatar in this situation and supports all measures it takes to protect its security and sovereignty, considering that Gulf solidarity in such circumstances is a duty and a shared responsibility.
He highlighted that this act constitutes a clear and explicit violation of international law and the Charter of the United Nations, as well as an unacceptable breach of international norms and conventions.
Dr. Al Rumaihi emphasised that the close ties between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the State of Qatar require unity and solidarity to deter any attempts targeting the security of the region.
