Manama: Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh, Chairman of the Shura Council, welcomed the Kingdom of Bahrain's election as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council for 2026-2027, highlighting it as a reflection of the Kingdom's strong international standing and the efforts of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa in promoting peace, coexistence, and tolerance.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the Chairman commended Bahrain's diplomatic efforts, led by Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs, and supported by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, in building strategic partnerships and managing the successful candidacy.
Al Saleh emphasised Bahrain's commitment to supporting international peace, resolving conflicts peacefully, and addressing global challenges such as sustainable development, human rights, and the Palestinian cause.
He underlined the legislative authority's full support for Bahrain's diplomatic work, including enhancing foreign policy and international cooperation through parliamentary diplomacy and active participation in regional and global forums.
