HM King Congratulated by Foreign Minister on Bahrain’s Election to UN Security Council

Manama: His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa received a cable of congratulations from Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs, on the Kingdom of Bahrain's election as a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council for 2026-2027.

According to Bahrain News Agency, Dr. Al Zayani stated that this achievement reflects global recognition of Bahrain's role on the international stage, as a result of the directives of His Majesty the King which reinforce the commitment to serving the Kingdom.

He noted that Bahrain's election to a second term on the Security Council, following its first membership in 1998-1999, underscores the Kingdom's evolving role on the international stage and in advancing universal values.

The Foreign Minister expressed confidence that Bahrain will play an active and constructive role on the Security Council, fostering dialogue, advancing mutual understanding, and supporting international stability, guided by principles of realism, openness, and cooperation at both regional and international levels.
