Shura Council Chairman Inaugurates Second Local Libraries Book Fair.

Manama: Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh, Chairman of the Shura Council, inaugurated the second local libraries book fair, organised by Al Ayam Publishing and Printing, running from November 21-30. He praised Bahrain's cultural and literary sector under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and supported by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister. According to Bahrain News Agency, Al Saleh highlighted Bahrain's cultural movement, enriched by events and initiatives promoting reading and scientific exploration as key contributors to social development. He acknowledged the efforts of institutions, civil society organisations, and the community in fostering cultural activities, supporting literature, culture, and science, and enhancing national libraries and research. Al Saleh commended Al Ayam Publishing and Printing for organising the fair for the second year and recognised its role in showcasing the contributions of over 22 Bahraini libraries and publishing houses. These institutions are presenting a wide range of publications and works by authors in various sectors. The chairman also noted the participation of Bahraini writers at the fair, whose attendance and book signings demonstrate their commitment to its success. He acknowledged the diverse programmes engaging all ages and supporting Bahraini talent, emphasizing that book fairs are key cultural events offering access to books and new publications.
