Shura Council and Diplomatic Academy Explore Enhanced Cooperation


Manama: Kareema Mohamed Al Abbasi, Secretary-General of the Shura Council, recently engaged in discussions with Shaikha Muneera bint Khalifa Al Khalifa, Director General of the Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa Academy for Diplomatic Studies. The meeting focused on enhancing cooperation in diplomatic training and strengthening institutional partnerships in specialized programs, which aim to support the advancement of parliamentary and diplomatic work.



According to Bahrain News Agency, Al Abbasi emphasized the importance of developing national competencies in international relations and parliamentary diplomacy. This development aligns with the legislative priorities of fostering cooperation and coordination with foreign legislative councils. Al Abbasi highlighted that this approach is guided by the vision of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and is implemented in coordination with the Government, led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.



Al Abbasi also acknowledged the efforts of Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh, Chairman of the Shura Council, in optimizing the investment in the Secretariat’s human resources. She noted the initiatives aimed at empowering council members and Secretariat staff to adapt to developments in parliamentary work, thereby enhancing legislative outcomes and meeting the Kingdom’s ongoing progress and development needs.



Furthermore, Al Abbasi praised the Academy’s role in training young Bahrainis for representation in regional and international organizations through advanced and specialized programs meeting global standards. She expressed her readiness to strengthen collaboration with the Academy to achieve shared goals in diplomacy and international relations.



Dr. Shaikha Muneera bint Khalifa, on her part, reaffirmed the Academy’s commitment to constructive cooperation with the Shura Council Secretariat. She lauded the Council’s efforts in human resource development and parliamentary advancement, noting that this cooperation facilitates the development of training programs and expertise exchange, thereby building national competencies and enhancing legislative performance.



Dr. Shaikha Muneera further highlighted the Academy’s ongoing provision of high-quality programs that enhance the capacities of new generations in diplomacy and international relations. She added that the collaboration with the Secretariat reflects Bahrain’s national strategy to boost its regional and international stature through integrated official and parliamentary diplomacy.
