HM King Receives Commemorative Satellite Image of Bahrain


Manama: His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa received His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, National Security Advisor, Royal Guard Commander, and Secretary General of the Supreme Defence Council, during a significant meeting focused on Bahrain’s advancements in space technology.



According to Bahrain News Agency, His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad presented His Majesty with a commemorative gift, which was the first complete satellite image of the Kingdom of Bahrain captured by the Bahraini satellite “Al Munther”. This presentation marked a milestone in Bahrain’s space exploration efforts.



During the meeting, His Majesty was briefed by Shaikh Khalid bin Ali bin Jaber Al Khalifa, Chairman of the Bahrain Space Agency (BSA); Dr. Mohammed Ibrahim Al Aseeri, Chief Executive Officer of BSA; and several officials on the progress of the “Al Munther” satellite project. The briefing included details about the satellite’s capabilities, the functions of the ground station, and the processes employed by the Agency to analyze satellite imagery and space-derived data.



His Majesty expressed appreciation for the efforts of His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad in advancing the work of the BSA and supporting it in achieving its objectives. He commended the role of the Agency’s Board of Directors in following up on the implementation of the National Space Policy and the Agency’s strategic plans. Additionally, His Majesty acknowledged the dedication of the national professionals leading the Agency and wished them continued success.
