Shura Chairman Meets Outgoing US Ambassador to Discuss Bilateral Relations

Manama: Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh, the Chairman of Bahrain's Shura Council, recently held a meeting with Steven C. Bondy, the outgoing US Ambassador to Bahrain. The meeting took place in the presence of Karima Mohammed Al Abbasi, Secretary-General of the Shura Council, as they discussed the enduring partnership between Bahrain and the United States.

According to Bahrain News Agency, Al Saleh expressed his best wishes to Ambassador Bondy for his future endeavors and emphasized the strength of the longstanding ties between Bahrain and the US. He noted that these ties are continuously fortified through fruitful partnerships, close cooperation, and ongoing coordination that align with the mutual interests of both nations.

Al Saleh also highlighted the advanced level of Bahraini-US relations and acknowledged the shared achievements in various development sectors. These achievements have been supported by the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and former US President Donald Trump. The chairman lauded Ambassador Bondy for his diplomatic efforts and contributions to strengthening the bilateral ties, emphasizing the historical and strategic partnership that binds the two countries.

Moreover, Al Saleh reiterated the Shura Council's commitment to enhancing engagement with the US Senate and House of Representatives, aiming to bolster parliamentary cooperation between the two nations.

Ambassador Bondy, on his part, expressed pride in Bahrain's progress across different sectors. He described his diplomatic mission in the Kingdom as a significant opportunity to witness its values of coexistence and tolerance. Bondy also pointed out the ongoing efforts between Bahrain and the US to achieve common goals, expand cooperation, and activate agreements and memoranda of understanding to further promote development and prosperity.
