Shura Chairman highlights SCW’s contributions to advancing Bahraini women

Shura Council Chairman, Ali bin Saleh Al-Saleh, has lauded the role played by the Supreme Council for Women (SCW) in supporting the march of Bahraini women over the past two decades, as one of the accomplishments of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s pioneering Reform Project.

 

He indicated that since its establishment by HM the King in 2001, the SCW has had its clear prints in laying solid foundations for the advancement of Bahraini women and increasing their contributions to the kingdom’s development.

 

In a statement marking the 20th Anniversary of the SCW, marked on August 22, the Shura Chairman expressed sincere congratulations to Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Wife of HM the King and SCW President, praising her interests in advancing Bahraini women at all levels, paving the way for them to become essential partners in the kingdom’s comprehensive development march.

 

He expressed pride in the SCW’s achievements since 2001, making it a national think-tank in women’s issues, which has reflected positively on the kingdom’s image at the international level.

 

Al-Saleh hailed the initiatives launched by the SCW to protect the stability of Bahraini families during the Coronavirus pandemic.

 

He also praised the constant cooperation between the SCW and the Legislative Branch regarding legislation and laws that support Bahraini women and families.
