Manama: Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh, Chairman of the Shura Council, met with Simon Williams, Chief Economist for Central and Eastern Europe, the Middle East, and North Africa at HSBC, to discuss economic and financial developments in the Kingdom of Bahrain. The meeting was attended by key members of the Shura Council, including Jamal Mohammed Fakhro, First Deputy Chairman, Dr. Jihad Abdullah Al Fadhel, Second Deputy Chairman, and Khalid Hussain Al Maskati, Chairman of the Financial and Economic Affairs Committee.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Al Saleh emphasized the Shura Council's commitment to reviewing financial and economic legislation that aligns with Bahrain's development goals and economic transformation. He acknowledged the role of financial and banking institutions in supporting national economic growth and enhancing Bahrain's status as a leading regional financial center. Al Saleh also expressed pride in the Kingdom's financial and economic legislative framework, noting its significance in attracting investment and expanding commercial activities.
Al Maskati highlighted the importance of engaging in dialogue with economic and financial experts to improve legislative efficiency and inform the review of laws and public policy. He pointed out that such consultations enhance the committee's understanding of economic trends, which helps in improving the quality of legislative recommendations to align them with the latest financial and economic data. Furthermore, he affirmed the committee's commitment to adopting advanced legislative practices that support Bahrain's transition towards financial sustainability and contribute to the country's long-term national development.
