Manama: Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh, Chairman of the Shura Council, participated in a coordination meeting of GCC parliament speakers, held on the sidelines of the 8th Conference of the Arab Parliament and Speakers of Arab Councils and Parliaments. The Chairman emphasized the significance of unity, solidarity, and cohesive positions among the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states as essential to safeguarding their security and stability and enhancing their capacity to address regional and international challenges.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Al Saleh highlighted that parliamentary coordination reflects the close cooperation among GCC member states and contributes to unifying positions on issues of common interest. This coordination strengthens joint parliamentary action and supports the objectives of the GCC. He reiterated Bahrain's commitment, under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, to fortify Gulf cooperation and integration, aligning with the shared vision of GCC leaders.
The Chairman also underscored the significance of ongoing coordination and consultation among GCC councils and parliaments in regional and international forums. This collaboration aims to reinforce unified Gulf stances, defend the interests of GCC member states, and support regional security and stability.
The GCC parliament speakers discussed the latest regional and international developments, stressing the importance of unified Gulf efforts in addressing challenges and rejecting external interference targeting the security and sovereignty of GCC member states. They also supported initiatives promoting peace, security, and stability, and encouraged dialogue and diplomatic solutions to regional crises.
Moreover, the speakers emphasized the need to enhance GCC parliamentary cooperation and coordination to support the GCC's objectives and the aspirations of its peoples for further development, prosperity, and stability.
