Manama: Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh, Chairman of the Shura Council, received a delegation from the Russia-Bahrain Parliamentary Friendship Group, headed by Mohammed Ahmedov, Deputy Chairman of the Social Policy Committee at the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation. Al Saleh emphasised the importance of such visits in enhancing cooperation and creating new opportunities to advance common interests between the two countries.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Al Saleh affirmed that the longstanding and deep-rooted relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Russian Federation continue to grow and prosper, supported by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Excellency President Vladimir Putin. Al Saleh expressed pride in the course of bilateral cooperation and the strategic and developmental partnerships established between the two nations, which reflect the strength of Bahrain-Russia ties.
He noted that His Majesty the King's visit to Russia in May last year represented a significant milestone in bilateral relations, opening broad prospects for investment and further building on joint achievements in the developmental paths of both countries. He also underlined the Kingdom's commitment to advancing its partnership with Russia across political, cultural, economic, tourism, and parliamentary domains, while continuing coordination with the Federal Assembly on shared positions in international parliamentary forums.
Al Saleh commended the progress achieved by the Russian Federation in various sectors and highlighted its cultural and social heritage. He expressed hope for continued bilateral visits and increased cooperation that supports the mutual interests of both nations and their peoples. During the meeting, Al Saleh received a written message from Valentina Matviyenko, Chairperson of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, extending an official invitation to visit Russia.
On his part, Ahmedov expressed appreciation for the hospitality and highlighted that the visit provided valuable insight into the Kingdom's progress and the values of the Bahraini people. He said that the visit offers an opportunity to exchange perspectives and explore means to further strengthen the longstanding relations, particularly in education and tourism.
