Brussels: Dr. Mohammed Ali Behzad, Ambassador at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, participated in the second senior officials' meeting of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC)-European Union (EU) Regional Security Dialogue, held at the EU headquarters in Brussels, Belgium. The event focused on collaborative efforts to address regional and international security issues.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the meeting explored areas of cooperation and threats to regional security, along with mechanisms for addressing these challenges. The discussions underscored the importance of enhancing strategic cooperation between the GCC and the EU to bolster regional security and stability.
The EU delegation was led by Charles Fries, Deputy Secretary General for Common Security and Defence Policy and Crisis Response at the European External Action Service. Dr. Abdulaziz bin Hamad Aluwaisheg, Assistant Secretary General for Political Affairs and Negotiations at the GCC General Secretariat, also participated in the meeting.
