Manama: Ahmed bin Salman Al Musallam, Speaker of the Council of Representatives and Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Parliamentary Division, and Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh, Chairman of the Shura Council, jointly led the coordination meeting of the Kingdom of Bahrain's parliamentary division delegation. The meeting was focused on preparing for the upcoming 19th periodic meeting of the leaders of Shura, Representatives, National and Ummah Councils of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, which is set to take place in Bahrain on November 13.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the Shura Chairmen and the Speaker of the Council of Representatives emphasized Bahrain's dedication to fostering parliamentary cooperation and supporting the joint efforts within the GCC, in line with directives from His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the backing of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
They highlighted the importance of regular meetings and continuous communication among legislative council heads to strengthen ties and Gulf relations, as well as to coordinate parliamentary positions that align with the vision of GCC leaders and the ambitions of the Gulf peoples for ongoing cooperation and integration.
Chairman Al Saleh and Speaker Al Musallam welcomed the parliamentary delegations and expressed hopes for successful outcomes from the 19th meeting that would enhance parliamentary collaboration. They noted that hosting the meeting in Bahrain, alongside preparations for the 46th GCC Summit in December, reflects the Kingdom's commitment to supporting joint Gulf cooperation.
During the coordination meeting, Bahrain's parliamentary delegation, along with the Secretary Generals of both Councils, reviewed preparations for the meeting of GCC parliamentary heads, agenda topics, and arrangements for the 24th meeting of the Parliamentary Coordination and Foreign Relations Committee.
Speaker Al Musallam is slated to chair the 19th periodic meeting of GCC legislative leaders, while Chairman Al Saleh will lead Bahrain's delegation at the event. The coordination meeting saw the participation of key Parliamentary Division members and officials, including MP Ahmed Sabah Al Salloom, MP Basma Abdulkarim Mubarak, MP Khalid Saleh Buanaq, and others, who contributed to the discussions and planning for the upcoming gathering.
