Manama: Dr. Shaikha Hessa bint Khalid Al Khalifa, Member of the Board of Directors of the Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC), led Bahrain's delegation to the meeting of the GCC Women's Sports Advisory Committee, held in Kuwait. The meeting agenda included a review of the recommendations of the Women's Sports Committee, adopted during the 98th Executive Office meeting of the GCC National Olympic Committees held on November 28, 2024, in Qatar, as well as an overview of the hackathon program held in Oman from March 1 - 4, 2024.
According to Bahrain News Agency, discussions also covered the latest developments regarding the Gulf women's sports digital platform, updates on the regulations for honoring leaders and athletes in the sports field, and the approval of the Advisory Committee's 2025 action plan. The BOC delegation presented the 'I Am Talented' program, overseen by the Equal Opportunities and Gender Balance Committee in the sports sector. The meeting also addressed the scheduling of the next session and other relevant matters.
Dr. Shaikha Hessa bint Khalid highlighted the significance of such meetings in strengthening GCC cooperation, particularly in women's sports. She commended the efforts of all GCC Olympic committees in advancing women's sports and acknowledged the contributions of the Advisory Committee members.
